This publication produced by the Northern Ireland Practice and Education Council for Nursing and Midwifery in August 2005 aims to provide practical guidance on starting to keep a portfolio of professional development for the purposes of continuing professional development and lifelong learning.


Association of Respiratory Nurse Specialists
The Association of Respiratory Nurse Specialists (ARNS) is a speciality forum for respiratory nurses. It aims to provide a supportive network for respiratory nurse specialists and to promote the speciality practice of respiratory nursing through education and professional development.


British Association of Critical Care Nurses (BACCN)
The British Association of Critical Care Nurses (BACCN) is a registered UK charity which exists to provide opportunities and services for members which support personal and professional development, and promote the art and science of critical care nursing. The website provides information about membership and details of the structure and activities of the organisation.


Virtual midwifery library
The Virtual Midwifery Library was devised by Amanda Williamson and Nicki Young at the School of Nursing and Midwifery Hellesdon, University of East Anglia. It has been created for midwives and students midwives, aiming to help them find relevant and quality resources on the Internet. This resource may also be of use to other Health Care Professionals.
