Outreach Library Services
- Is the Healthcare Library some distance from your workbase/home?
- Does lack of time prevent you from finding information to support
work/studies?
There are a variety of ways in which you can access the expertise of
Healthcare Library staff and utilise online electronic information resources.
Electronic Resources
It is possible to access an increasing amount of high quality health information,
including full text journal articles and the results of latest research
without even leaving your desk! Many of these resources require an NHS
Athens password. Quick and easy online registration is available here
(using an NHSnet pc).
Supply of Books and Photocopied Articles
Print off, complete and send a request form (link below) with as much
detail as possible about the item required and we will locate, obtain
and supply to your workplace via internal mail.
Literature Search Service
If unable to carry out your own searches, these can be undertaken by qualified
librarians, who will email, fax or post the results to you; just follow
the link below, print off, complete and send the form to the library.

Attendance at Training Events/Professional Meetings
- Would you like a member of the Library Team to deliver a short presentation
at a departmental meeting eg to outline how electronic information resources
can enable staff to keep up-to-date in their subject areas?
- Would you like information support on a more regular basis eg a Librarian
to attend professional meetings and conduct literature searches etc
to support decision making?
- Can we help by underpinning your training event by signposting attendees
to relevant resources?
If you are an NHS member of staff or healthcare student on placement
ANYWHERE in North Hampshire, contact
the Library Team to let them know what YOUR information needs
are.
